Amyes Road / Springs Road has been identified as a medium high-risk intersection in Christchurch (2020). This project aims to improve safety and reduce death and serious injury crashes at this intersection and also Awatea Road / Springs Road intersection and includes investigating a signalisation of both intersections as a staggered T-intersection. The project also includes investigating implementation of High Friction Surfacing at the approaches to the intersections.

Why This Project Matters

Transport infrastructure keeps Christchurch moving and safe. This project is part of the council's programme to maintain and improve roads, paths, and public spaces for Hornby residents.
