This project is identified in the adopted Main Road master plan, and the overall area is of cultural importance to Tangata Whenua (from both a historical and contemporary perspective).

Transport infrastructure keeps Christchurch moving and safe. This project is part of the council's programme to maintain and improve roads, paths, and public spaces for Linwood-Heathcote residents.
