SW Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor Consenting (OARC)

The goal of the project is to develop and implement a robust consenting pathway for the projects within the Otakaro Avon River Corridor (OARC) Regeneration Plan.

This is a $251K stormwater project in Burwood-Pegasus, Christchurch, currently in progress.

The goal of the project is to develop and implement a robust consenting pathway for the projects within the Otakaro Avon River Corridor (OARC) Regeneration Plan. Recent OARC projects have highlighted the challenges and high costs of consenting, including contaminated land, passive groundwater interception and earthworks. Given the scale and extent of the works within the OARC, innovative global consenting solutions, mitigation measures or alternative consenting strategies may be possible that will drive more efficient delivery of the programme and reduced consenting costs.
